CEREBRO Y TEMPERATURA:
El HIPOTÁLAMO ES EL TERMORREGULADOR DEL CEREBRO

Debes tener en cuenta que el cerebro sufre especialmente con los cambios bruscos de temperatura y tampoco es amigo del calor extremo, a partir de 40 o las posibilidades de sufrir un golpe de calor se intensifican. Recuérdalo especialmente en verano o en los lugares con climas muy cálidos, dado que la exposición a altas temperaturas dificulta la atención, la concentración, al sueño (por cómo afecta al hipotálamo hiperexcitando al cerebro), la memo- ria, el estado anímico y puede llegar a afectar a las funciones motoras del organismo. El hipotálamo es el termostato de tu cuerpo y resulta imprescindible para la homeostasis y las funciones vitales del mismo.

NOTA: Efectivamente, el hipocampo que se encuentra en una zona próxima al hipotálamo tiene otras funciones, como bien se detalla en la lectura, vinculadas principalmente a la memoria y el aprendizaje.
